This was another royal wedding that had a touch of scandal about it. As with Prince Haakon of Norway's wedding the royal couple's problem centred on allegations of drug use. Princess Märtha's future husband, author Ari Behn, was rumoured to have used narcotics in the past. Behn has made comments praising those who have fought against drug use but refused to comment on his own history. Nevertheless the wedding went ahead on 24 May 2002 and the couple now have three daughters.
