Location: City of Westminster, London
History: Banqueting House is the only remaining component of the Palace of Whitehall, which was the main residence of English monarchs between 1530 and 1698 when it was destroyed by fire. The house was completed in 1622, 27 years before King Charles I was executed in front of it in 1649.
