Out of Africa

Why Kenya?
We didn't want to go to regular holiday destinations like Singapore or Malaysia and we were in search of something new and exotic. I love wildlife and have been to almost every sanctuary in India like Jim Corbett, Ranthambore, Bharatpur and many more. Africa had always been a dream destination, so I planned this seven day-tour with two families -- my own and my friend Sunil Bansal's family.
Wildlife, wildlife... and wildlife
Kenya can be a dream come true for any wildlife lover. The day we landed in Nairobi, we were taken to the giraffe centre, where we got the chance to feed the Rothschild giraffes, which is a rare species.
We could see so many varieties of animals walking in the park like the wildebeest, rhinoceros, wild buffaloes, but the best was seeing as many as 12 lions at one go, chasing the buffaloes! Then we went to this game sanctuary called Sweetwaters, which also houses rescued chimpanzees and black rhinos.
But, Kenya is a treat for bird lovers too! We went to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its pink flamingos and other species of birds like African fish eagle, tawny eagle and pelicans. At the end of our trip, we landed up at the Masai Mara, which is famous for the Big Five (the lion, leopard, the African elephant, and African and black rhinos).
