Myths on HIV/AIDS - Busted!
The myth: Only sex workers, gay men and poor, uneducated people get HIV. People like us don't get HIV.
The fact: HIV doesn't discriminate. You can get it no matter who you are, unless you are safe.
The myth:You can tell if someone has STDs or HIV just by looking at them.
The fact: Most STIs do not have any visible symptoms.
The myth: You can get HIV if an infected person touches you, kisses you, sweats, shares utensils with you or sneezes around you.
The fact: Blood, semen, vaginal fluids and breast milk. These are the only ways through which HIV can be transferred. Coughing, sneezing, sharing a cup, holding hands does not lead to HIV.
The myth: There is a cure for HIV
The fact: There is no cure for HIV, so practice safe sex habits.
