Since the cold weather causes the hair to dry quickly, massage your hair with Aloe vera oil for a few minutes; this will restore its softness. Treat yourself to an oil massage once or twice a week. Olive oil can work wonders in reinforcing moisture to your hair. If you use herbal oil for your hair, make sure you don't keep it on for too long. Herbal ingredients are mostly cooling agents that are more suitable for the summer.
The type of products you use on your hair will make a big difference in the overall health of your hair. Ask your hair stylist on the type of product which is best suited for your hair type.
Do not overuse your hairdryer. This will contribute to dry damaged hair. Try to blow dry your hair as little as possible. When you do use your hairdryer, try using the 'cool' setting. Drying your hair with cool air may take a little longer but it will do less damage to your hair.
Avoid exposing your hair to frequent colouring, streaking, or ironing as they can rob your hair off its moisture.
If possible, cover your hair with a scarf, dupatta or a cap when you step out into the cold. This will help protect your hair.
Limit shampooing your hair to once a day. Use warm or cool water instead of hot water, as hot water damages the hair.
