Travel with Cox& Kings to Paris

Ready to see Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa, not to forget Alfred Hitchcock, Joan of Arc, Albert Einstein, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Marylyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, etc? They are all amongst the over 300 personalities waiting at the Musée Grévin. The latest addition to Grévin is the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan.

Located on Paris’ Grande Boulevard, the Musée Grévin is a wax museum in Paris that is designed to bring famous people and events to life in the form of wax copies in a magnificent setting dominated by gold and marble!

The life-like figures, their posture, texture of their complexion and their costumes are all sculpted to create the illusion of reality. With 6 thematic areas and over 300 personalities, Musée Grévin will take you on a journey through history, magic, illusion, and mystery with wax models that range from politicians, actors, musical stars and models through to the pope, French chefs, sporting stars, writers, film-makers and important figures in history.

Journalist Arthur Meyer (1844-1917) came up with the idea of creating life-size, three-dimensional models of the people who made the headlines in the famous daily paper "Le Gaulois". Meyer's idea was simple: to create a place where the public could walk through a setting peopled with wax figures. It was an instant success!

As you climb up a marble staircase, you will enter the Palais des Mirages (room of mirrors), a hexagonal room that has a very special effect with the lights and multiple reflections from the mirrors that go from floor to ceiling and completely surround you. Children will certainly love the whole museum and be very impressed by the many deforming mirrors.

You now have another reason to visit Paris! Check out Cox& King’s packages and discover this wonderful magical world where real life characters await you.

Oh yes… There is often an actor pretending to be one of the wax models who then moves so as to surprise everyone, so beware if you have a weak heart!
