The smoky eye is Kristen's signature style and this summer the actress has embraced the season's trend for metallic shades, as seen on the catwalks at Emilio Pucci spring/summer 12. 'Smokey eyes are a seasonal staple and this summer they're all about molten metallics and luxe layers,' says Lan.

Get the look: 'Add a touch of metallic eye shadow or kohl pencil and smudge just outwards of the corner of the upper eyelid,' says Lan. 'Next, line the inner eye with the kohl (I like Mac Smoulder) and smudge through lashes to get a darker tone.

'For the ultimate smoky look, smudge golden brown and metallic eye shadow along the edges and under the eye.'
