It's that time of year again - one of the most prestigious photo competitions has announced its shortlist. The World Photography Organisation today reveals contenders for the Professional, Open and Youth categories of the 2013 Sony World Photography awards.

We've selected our favourites from the Open category which features amateur photographers. The choice hasn't been an easy one - there were a whopping 122,000 entries - and the winner will be announced in March. Which one is your favourite?
