Her salt and pepper hair together with the tiny winking diamond nose pin and cotton sarees, her opinion on everything ranging from the slum dwellers rehabilitation to the dying fishes in the Narmada delta to championing the eco warrior brigade to her fiery novels, essays and other writings: activist Arundhati Roy believes in breaking the mould. Internationally feted ( her book 'The God of Small Things' won the Man Booker Prize in 1997), Arundhati is a firebrand. Almost all of what she speaks and writes about is controversial.
