Yesterday marked the end of the 27th Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. The arts and music festival, which takes place on a dry lake known as the ‘Playa’, is a radical celebration of self-expression and this year welcomed 68,000 people. The festival is based on firm set of codes which include the ‘Leaving No Trace’ principle, meaning no physical trace is left after it happens, as well as a gift economy system. The theme this year was ‘Cargo Cult’, celebrating the arrival of a mythical alien visitor.
