After Hurricane Katrina, Brad Pitt founded The Make It Right Foundation, a nonprofit committed to financing and building 150 new houses in New Orleans. The emphasis is on sustainable and affordable living for victims affected by the natural disaster.

In 2006 alone, Brad and star missus Angelina Jolie were reported to have donated $8 million to charity.
