For every red carpet stunner, there’s been a hair and make-up disaster the stars would rather forget. We asked the beauty experts for their take on this year’s worst offenders...

Fashion forward and edgy, Twilight actress Kristen Stewart usually looks fantastic on the red carpet – but even she can make an occasional beauty boo-boo.

“While I admire Kristen’s fearless approach to make-up, she can sometimes take things too far,” says professional make-up artist Amanda Bell. “In the first picture (left) she’s adapted her signature smokey eye and applied dark shadow beyond the natural crease of the eye, which has the effect of making her eyes appear too close set.

“In the second image (right), her red lip is too strong and minimises her already small lips. With her hair pulled back it is quite unforgiving.”
