Take care of your feet during summer
Manisha Lokegaonkar, owner, White Wellness Spa, Seawoods, said that her spa has some effective foot care treatments that leaves your foot feeling as beautiful as your face. Her spa has something called a Spa Pedicure, where several quality products are used to make sure your foot is taken care of. "We use a thing called a foot fizzy, which is an anti-bacterial salt fragranced with lavender, rose, and more to treat your feet. This helps clean the foot and remove the dead skin. There's also a disinfecting treatment with bamboo shoot and cane sugar scrub, coconut cane sugar, which naturally washes off dead skin from your feet." The spa also uses papaya gel, a moisturising cream to hydrate the skin without making it oily. Then there's a treatment called foot softening wherein kokum butter is applied to the cuticle.
Moreover, if your foot is tanned, there's a treatment called foot brightening, which moisturises and lightens the skin. This treatment also works well for men; as their skin is harder than women and needs more moisturising. "These treatments should ideally be taken at least once a week if not then at least once in 15 days will also help cure the damage and keep you feet healthy," added Manisha.
While Varsha Goradia, owner of Sparsh Beauty Salon in Vashi said that the entire body faces a bad time during summer. "Most of the damage to the skin happens during the first few days when the weather begins to get hotter. Hence, this is the right time to take preventive measures for your foot. What we do is give the foot a gentle massage which relaxes the cells. Foot massage not only relaxes the foot but the whole body as well. After the massage, we apply a smoothening pack that gets rid of dead skin cells and tan from the feet. Finally, we apply a cream. I also advice my clients to wear closed footwear during the season to prevent damage," Varsha said. Foot reflexology is another treatment that involves cleaning the foot with salts and is very relaxing. In fact, it helps control high blood pressure if the right pressure points are touched.
