White Linen: It's the classic. It looks great even when it wrinkles and barely shows sweat (at least comparatively). It won't last long, but that's all for the better. Wear it with abandon.
Navy t-shirt: The bad news, it attracts heat. The good news, it shows less sweat than gray or light blue. Aim for something in the lightest fabric you can find, be sure it breathes, and for God's sake don't buy anything too tight. For a little flair, try to find something with a breast pocket. Deep summer V-necks are not - we repeat not - an option.
Kurta: You might as well accept it: it's your heritage. And nothing looks cooler on a hot day that a guy in a crisp, white kurta. You don't have to get all fancy about it. Just wear it like it's your birthright and no one will second guess it.
Blue mulmul: It's about as light weight a fabric as you'll find, and on a breezy day it catches every last bit of air. Nothing else fits this loose but looks so slick.
