2013 Met Gala: Best Dressed

By Pritha Bhattacharya Sun 2:10 PM

This year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, which is one if the biggest days in the fashion calendar, had a PUNK: Chaos to Couture theme. Though a lot of celebrities didn’t stick to the theme, the event saw high drama with edgy and experimental style being presented on the red carpet.

Nina Dobrev looked breath-taking in her Monique Lhuillier black lace jumpsuit with a sheer skirt overlay and leather accented halter. She kept the rest of her look simple with dramatic cat eyes and black stone jewellery.
Cara Delevingne, the hot new face on the fashion block, stuck to the punk theme and decked herself out in a beautiful black Burberry Prorsum gown with studs on the bodice and a plunging neckline. She accessorised with a gold studded white clutch, deep side parted braided hair and dark goth eye make-up.
Sienna Miller also stuck to Burberry in a simple white column gown but her accessories took it to the next level and added the punk edge. She wore an amazing spiked & studded Burberry leather cropped jacket, spiked hair band and carried a white and gold clutch.

Cameron Diaz looked stunning in a caped Stella McCartney ink-blue column gown with a spiked belt. She kept her hair off her face and her make-up simple.
Newly brunette, Amber Heard looked every bit the bombshell she is, with a red beaded, column gown with sheer inserts from Emilio Pucci, accessorised with a red clutch. Though she didn’t stick to the theme, she looked gorgeous.
Taylor Swift wore an on-trend J. Mendel cut-out gown with sheer lace inserts and studded collar for added punk drama. Her eye makeup and hair elevates the look and gives it the required edge. She looks fierce!

Does this best dressed list match yours? Will you be rocking the punk theme anytime soon?
