PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 Trend Report

By Pritha Bhattacharya Aug 18, 2012 9:50PM

PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 that concluded in Delhi last week, was all about ornate drapes and Bridal finery and was every bit as luxurious as Couture should be. I do wish we would think beyond bridal as Indian couture, though. As is the norm, here is my update on the top trends that emerged.

Colour Trends:
The combination that stood out across key collections was Red & Black, seen at Anju Modi, Shantanu and Nikhil and Sabyasachi.
Ornate Jackets:
Exquisitely embroidered jackets in rich fabrics like velvet and silk were presented by Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi and Ashima & Leena.

Full skirts:
Volume in skirts, a feminine silhouette that works for all body types, was seen in the collections of Sabyasachi and Anamika Khanna.

Whites and Nudes:
Designers like Sabyasachi, Ashima & Leena , Anamika Khanna and Manish Malhotra presented beautifully embellished full white, nude and blush pink ensembles.

Style Mantra Favorite Collections:
Sabyasachi for his sheer brilliance
Anamika Khanna for superb craftsmanship
Manish Malhotra for one of his best presentations till date
