Vogue Beauty Awards 2012 - Best Dressed Round Up

By Pritha Bhattacharya Aug 4, 2012 2:17PM

Stars descended at the Vogue Beauty Awards in Mumbai last week, looking their glamorous best. The key trends through the night were black and nude gowns. Here is a quick round up of the best dressed from the event. Let me know if you agree with my list.

Deepika Padukone was by far the best dressed on the Red Carpet. She has been on a roll since her recent movie success and the confidence clearly shows as she glammed up the event in a figure hugging Dolce & Gabanna strapless black and gold ensemble. With hair in bouncy ‘Veronica-esque’ waves, she accessorised with a black clutch, gold cuffs and black peep-toes.

Sonali Bendre came a very close second. She rocked a Christian Dior form fitting, floor grazing gown with a steel grey embellished bodice. Her hair and make-up were flawless.

Poorna Jagannathan looked beautiful in a nude layered Bibhu Mohapatra gown. The hair and makeup were great and she accessorised with a gold clutch.

Diana Penty looked fabulous in a Gucci black one-shouldered gown with embellished gold details on the shoulder strap. I loved her Christian Louboutin Lady Max spiked sandals that have been taking the international red carpets by storm. The hair was a bit of a dampener as the gown was screaming for an updo.

Dia Mirza was a breath of fresh air. She rocked her new ‘do’ wearing a nude fit & flare below-the-knee dress in a sea of gowns. She could have added a pop of colour via her shoes or clutch, but she looks good nonetheless.

Nargis Fakhri looked ethereal in a Cavalli printed tiered gown. I wasn’t a fan of the hair but she looked good.
