Trend Spotting: Bring On the Bold Prints

By Pritha Bhattacharya Sep 2, 2012 2:12PM

Diane Kruger was spotted last week in Paris doing what she does best, turning heads with her unique fashion sensibilities. While out and about with friends she mixed bold prints to create a chic laidback ensemble with a striped Tee, printed red skirt and polka dotted flats.  This brings us to our Trend Spotting theme for this week- How to wear Bold Prints.

Back home, our very own fashion torch-bearer, Sonam Kapoor, wore a Surendri By Yogesh Choudhary Pacman Sari for a recent event. The bold prints were offset with simple styling and a Gold clutch and cute matching Pacman earrings.

Anushka Manchanda oozed confidence in a head-to-toe printed Atsu ensemble at an event last month.

The key to working bold prints is confidence.

If you want to stand out, pair your printed dress with contrasting solid coloured accessories like Chitrangada Singh who smouldered in a gold Surendri by Yogesh Choudhary knee length dress paired with blue pumps and Pacman earrings.

Go the extra fashion mile by working print on print like the ever experimenting Sabina Chopra who rocked a Sabyasachi ensemble at LFW Winter Festive 2012. Don’t forget to work your personality unless you want to get drowned in what you are wearing.

Keep it simple like Sonam Kapoor in a digital print Manish Arora dress, by muting the look with black accessories.

Prints can take you from a casual day out into a glamorous evening, so don’t forget to play with prints this season!
