How to wear coloured trousers

Ditch the same old denim and inject some colour into your summer wardrobe

How to wear coloured trousers

No man in a pair of jeans could ever be considered a serious man of style. Add some colour to them and you've got everybody's attention. One of the biggest and most difficult-to-pull-off trends this season is coloured bottoms. Be it denims, cottons, wool or linen - trousers in alternative shades (not grey, black, brown or navy) can make any outfit startlingly stylish.

Your aim (as a non east London hipster) must be to minimize the startling and maximize the stylish. Coloured trousers add a hint of dandyism to your overall look but don't go overboard.

Keep your shirt or t-shirt neutral, don't try and colour block with startling colours. Go for beiges, whites, blacks or subdued prints.

Select trousers in pastel shades if you petrified of the stares. They give a more sophisticated look.
The coloured bottoms look needn't work only with skinny pants (although they do look bloody good) just ensure that your trousers are well tailored and you could even pull it off with your office trousers.
